About Comfort Clean Ear
Comfort Clean Ear wax removal clinic grew from the desire to provide the people of Tasmania with another option (a more gentle, safer, comfortable and timely option) when considering removing their wax.
Before Comfort Clean Ear, there were only 2 options for the physical removal of ear wax (also known as cerumen) in Tasmania. A person would either have to see their GP or be referred to an Ear Noise and Throat specialist. If seeing a GP, the syringing method with pressurised water was (and is still) used. This antiquated method can often be a very uncomfortable experience for the patient and at worst, perforate an ear drum, or further exacerbate an unknown but present active middle or outer ear infection. Alternatively, if referred to an Ear Noise an Throat specialist, often the waiting period required before actually seeing one is excessive especially if under the public system (can be several months). Most Ear Noise and Throat specialists (ENTs) do however administer a safe method of wax removal. At Comfort Clean Ear, we administer the same specialised safe wax removal techniques including micro-suction provided by ENTs but without the lengthy waiting periods required. Our specially trained Nurses and Clinical Audiologist have undergone the very best nationally accredited training for safe wax removal developed in collaboration with ENTs and the Institute of Health and Nursing Australia(IHNA) to ensure your next wax removal experience will be both safe and comfortable.
